Why is Clarence Thomas silent?
On a day when Justice Antonin Scalia suggested that the continuation of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act represents the "perpetuation of racial entitlement," and Chief Justice John Roberts asked Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, whether it was the position of the U.S. government that residents of Southern states are more racist than those of Northern states, and Justice Anthony Kennedy described Congress as having "reverse engineered" the formula originally used in the Voting Rights Act to ensure that certain states would be covered by Section 5, and Justice Elena Kagan said that "Under any formula that Congress could devise, it would still capture Alabama," and every other Associate Justice asked some question of the legal teams there assembled, Mr. Justice Thomas, said nothing at all.  In fact, Clarence Thomas has spoken only once in the last seven years, and only then to belittle his alma mater.

Why is Clarence Thomas still on the bench?
He failed to report his wife's earnings for 12 years on his financial disclosure forms.

It has come to my attention that information regarding my spouse's employment required in Part III B of my financial disclosure report was inadvertently omitted due to a misunderstanding of the filing instructions.

Now for those who are not paying attention, this isn't simply cheating on his income tax, you see, judges are required to file financial disclosure to enable the public to evaluate their performance, determine conflicts of interest, watch for abuses of power, and since a great deal of Mrs. Thomas' previously undisclosed income came from the Heritage Foundation it is likely that Mr. Thomas should have recused himself in many cases heard before the bench either directly or inderectly involving the aforementioned organization.

Why is Clarence Thomas such a jerk?
He was the lone dissenter in SAFFORD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT v. REDDING, where an eighth grader at Safford Middle School, was strip-searched by school officials on the basis of a tip by another student that Ms. Redding might have ibuprofen on her person in violation of school policy.  In a 22 page dissenting opinion Thomas said administrators were only being logical in searching the girl. "Judges are not qualified to second-guess the best manner for maintaining quiet and order in the school environment," and that "Redding would not have been the first person to conceal pills in her undergarments," and further "Nor will she be the last after today's decision, which announces the safest place to secrete contraband in school."

Why is Clarence Thomas an embarrassment to his race (and by race, I mean human!)?

He claims that his Yale law degree was not taken seriously by law firms to which he applied after graduating. He said that potential employers assumed he obtained it because of affirmative action policies.  Two things Mr. Thomas.  You did get into Yale because of Affirmative Action.  You see, affirmative action doesn't mean minority students are necessarily less qualified, it meant, in this case, that Yale had to accept a certain number of minority students.  Let's say that number was 50.  They didn't say, this guy Thomas is smart, so we won't count him in the minority group, so we can therefore accept at least one more minority, no, indeed, you were counted in the 50 and it is likely that the great majority of those counted in the quota met all of the qualifications that everyone else made.  What is more likely, Mr. Thomas, is that if in fact those law firms assumed that standards had to be lowered for you simply because of your skin color, such an assumption necessarily reveals a certain level of disdain for those of your skin color.

Secondly, you got your place on the Supreme Court, precisely, because you are Black.  It is both disappointing and unfortunate, that you were chosen to replace the first Black Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshal, upon his retirement from the court.  Not only are you nothing that he was, you are everything he was not.  He was a champion of justice for the downtrodden, You are a lap dog for oligarchy.

For the record, Mr. Thomas, we don't dislike you because you're Black, we dislike you because you are a jerk, a tax cheat, a crony, and silent in the face of moral adversity.
